1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels and SDK-level identifiers, which we collectively refer to as "cookies" in this policy for simplicity.
Cookies can be:
- First-party — set by WooCloud on
woocloud.net; - Third-party — set by a domain other than WooCloud, for example by an embedded analytics script;
- Session — deleted when you close the browser;
- Persistent — kept for a defined period or until you delete them.
2. Why we use them
We use cookies to:
- keep you signed in across pages of the web application;
- remember language, theme and other UI preferences;
- keep the site and your account secure against abuse;
- understand, in aggregate, which pages and features are used, so we can improve them.
3. Cookies we use
The table below summarises the cookies set on woocloud.net. Exact names may change as we update components; categories and purposes will remain consistent.
| Category | Example names | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | wc_session, wc_csrf |
Authenticate signed-in users, protect against CSRF, and load-balance requests. Without these the site cannot function. | Session to 30 days |
| Preference | wc_theme, wc_lang |
Remember theme (light / dark) and language selection. | 12 months |
| Security | wc_ratelimit |
Detect and throttle suspicious activity such as credential-stuffing attempts. | 24 hours |
| Analytics (opt-in) | _wc_visitor, _wc_ses |
Produce aggregated, non-identifying statistics about how the marketing site is used. Only set after you accept the banner. | Up to 13 months |
4. Third-party cookies
We keep third-party cookies to a strict minimum. The following categories may apply:
- Web fonts — we load typefaces from a third-party font provider. The provider may receive your IP address and user-agent as part of the font request, but does not set tracking cookies on
woocloud.netfor this purpose. - Payment processor — when you enter a payment page, our processor may set cookies needed to complete the transaction and to prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by the processor's own policy.
- Analytics — if you consent, we use a privacy-respecting analytics provider that does not build long-term profiles across sites.
We do not use advertising cookies, social-network trackers, or cross-site behavioural advertising on woocloud.net.
5. Managing cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Cookie banner — on your first visit you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can revisit the choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer (where available).
- Browser settings — all major browsers let you view, block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break sign-in and other core functionality.
- Private / incognito mode — cookies set in this mode are typically cleared when you close the window.
For step-by-step guidance, see the help pages of your browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or another browser of your choice.
6. Do Not Track signals
"Do Not Track" (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) are browser signals intended to tell websites not to track visitors. There is no universally adopted standard for DNT. We honour GPC signals by treating them as a valid opt-out of optional analytics cookies, and we do not set analytics cookies when a clear opt-out signal is received.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use or to reflect legal or operational changes. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, notify you through the Service.
8. Contact
